SPELL MISCAST TABLE

1) Spell achieves the desired effect but in an unintended way. Breathe Water grows gills on the recipient.
                                                               Fly grows bird wings on caster.
2) Spell fizzles - puff of smoke, popping sound, or nothing. 
3) Spell reversed - Hot/Cold, Protection From Undead becomes Attraction From Undead, Breathe Water
                    becomes Breathe ONLY Water
4) Spell hits wrong target
5) Spell has enhanced effect
6) Spell has diminished effect
7) Spell range is altered
8) Spell duration is altered
9) Spell area of effect is altered - single target spell becomes area effect and vice versa
10) Spell reflects to caster
11) Spell ricochets randomly
12) Spell affects everyone but the intended target
13) Spell has word related effect - Prot from Good becomes Prot from Food, Message becomes Massage,
                                    Lightning Bolt becomes Frightening Dolt (save vs fear), Armor
                                    becomes Armoir, Blink becomed Sink...
14) Spell appears to work normally but is only an illusion
15) Spell works but a non-critical change is made to it - Fireball explodes in rainbow flames, Web is
                                                          infested with small spiders, Haste includes
                                                          sound of cartoon bongos
16) Spell fails in a critical way - Fireball becomes bouquet of fire orchids, Wall of Iron is Wall of
                                    Paper Mache, Featherfall creates a pile of feathers, Tongues becomes
                                    gibberish or insults, Shadow Monster detaches caster's shadow which
                                    turns and attacks, Water Breathing - caster smells like a pile of
                                    rotting fish 
17) Spell has bizarre effect - everyone is undressed, caster can only yodel for next hour, all pillows
                               and cushions temporaily turn into pudding, scented smoke pours from caster's
                               pouches, caster's feet leave cartoon footprints everywhere, monkeys leap 
                               out of a character's backpack, a large hamster appears and scurries through
                               the mage's robes for 5 rounds, a butler named Jeeves appears - you can ask 
                               him one question you don't know the answer to, tiny raincloud appears above
                               caster and showers continuously for an hour, caster walks like an Egyptian 
                               for an hour, random body part of someone nearby turns invisible for an hour,
                               delicious cookies fall from and elven tree, bloodcurdling scream whenever
                               caster opens mouth for one hour... 
18) Spell delayed by D4 rounds
19) Spell is substituted with a random spell the caster knows
20) Spellcaster is hit by a backlash of magical energy - D4 damage and lose D4 PSY points for D4 hours
